![]() Welcome to the May Great Schools Colorado Newsletter, We’re in the middle of a competitive grant cycle and continuing our work to strengthen charter school quality and growth across the state. This month brings several important updates and opportunities—let’s get right into them: GSC-CSP Grant Program UpdatesThe New and High-Quality Expansion/Replication competition is still underway, and we’ve made a few key updates to help you stay on track. Most notably, the application deadline has been extended to May 28, 2025. You can review our communication on the topic, the updated RFA and a full summary of changes—all of which are now reflected in the online grant management system. Provisional awards will be announced the week of June 23–27.
Call for Authorizing Challenges: Submit to CACSA's Group ConsultancyThe Colorado Association of Charter School Authorizers (CACSA) invites authorizers to submit "Authorizing-Related Problems of Practice" for consideration in upcoming Group Consultancy sessions. Selected submissions will be featured and collaboratively explored by peers across the state. ![]() GSC-CSP Prospect Cohort: May Recap & June PreviewThank you to everyone who joined us for the May 13th Prospect Cohort meeting! We explored the wide range of technical assistance (TA) resources available to CSP subgrantees, how to access them, and the difference between required and optional trainings. We hope you left with a clearer picture of the support available to you. In case you missed it, watch the recorded session and access the slide deck here. Looking ahead to June, don’t miss our next session on Tuesday, June 10 from 5–6 p.m., where the topic is Required Policies and Procedures. We’ll cover the essential documents you’ll need to have in place—from board governance and conflict of interest policies to enrollment procedures, academic performance expectations, and more. Attendees will have time to ask questions, bring draft documents, and engage in peer learning.
CSP Continuation Grant CompetitionThe application window for the CSP Continuation Grant Competition officially closed on May 2. We appreciate the time and effort applicants put into their submissions. Provisional awards will be announced soon—stay tuned for the confirmed date and check our website for updates. National Events and Celebrations![]() This summer, we’re heading to Orlando, Florida for the National Charter Schools Conference, hosted by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools from June 29–July 2. We’d love to see you there—especially at our Colorado State Reception on July 2 at 4 p.m. Join us for a chance to connect with peers from across the state. It’s also National Charter Schools Week, and this year marks 30 years of the CSP program. We’re joining the National Alliance in celebrating the history and impact of the Charter Schools Program. Be sure to check out their coverage, or see what’s being shared on our social media. We’ll be back again with another newsletter in June and with additional updates as needed.
