Learn how both sides can collaborate effectively and fairly to benefit all stakeholders, including the school and its authorizer, parents, students, staff, and the wider community.

Panelists include Sara Sanders, Director of Communications at Windsor Charter Academy; Kelly Gomes, Executive Director, Shared Services Partner at Wildflower Montessori Public Schools; Amanda Oberg, Senior Communications Manager at Charter School Institute; and Stacy Rader, Chief Communications Officer for Douglas County School District.

For complimentary registration, use code CONNECT-100-AC25 and choose a one-day member pass for Friday. You are welcome to attend for the full day (including two enrollment and communication workshops that morning) or simply for lunch and/or the afternoon CONNECT session.

Raena Vigil, Digital Communications Specialist, Charter School Institute

1650250410324.jpeg

Meet Raena Vigil, Digital Communications Specialist at the Colorado Charter School Institute (CSI) and someone who balances her love for the outdoors with a healthy dose of nostalgia and music. A self-proclaimed night owl, Raena would happily spend her evenings watching PBS documentaries (nerdy? No. Educational? Absolutely) or strumming the guitar in her imaginary 70s rock band, Old Souls. If she could master any skill instantly, it would be playing every instrument and writing songs—a talent that would fit right in with her dream decade.

When she’s not working her communications magic, you might find Raena outdoors, breathing in her favorite scent—mountain air with notes of pine, cedar, and campfire. Or, more realistically, hanging out anywhere that serves ice cream. (Priorities.) She’d time travel to the kingdom of Genovia from The Princess Diaries if given the chance and would prefer to fly there herself—her superpower of choice. And if the zombie apocalypse happens to hit? She’s set with two survival essentials: her water bottle and heated blanket.

Despite her adventurous spirit, there are limits—she’s never been to California and once ate an alarmingly large block of fried cheese. But if there’s one place she’d happily return to, it’s San Isabel, Colorado. And when she walks into a room? Expect Three Little Birds by Bob Marley to set the tone—because, as Raena would say, every little thing is gonna be alright.
