In collaboration with the EDSAFE AI Alliance, this session will explore the integration of artificial intelligence in K-12 education, including the current status of AI implementation in Colorado from both a statewide and K-12 perspective. It offers an accessible overview of AI to help ground participants in both the opportunities and considerations of this emerging field. This includes its brief history, major research areas, and the challenges and risks associated with its use in education.
Building on this foundation, the workshop incorporates open discussion, inviting participants to share their own experiences and insights related to AI in their school communities. Using an innovative approach to understanding AI, this session will provide attendees with opportunities to engage in problem-solving and data-driven decision-making regarding the implementation of AI in their schools.
