Quality: Academics
Schools face relentless pressure to raise math test scores, yet quick fixes often fail to deliver lasting change. Many of the commonly adopted HQIM math resources require that teachers instruct in ways that they did not experience as learners themselves. Discover how investing in teacher and leader growth in math content and math identity is both a higher-impact and a more sustainable path forward.
Participants will hear directly from an instructional leader building her own math identity and capacity to support teachers. They will also experience a taste of deep content learning as an adult, and reflect on how understanding the K–8 trajectory of math learning strengthens leaders' ability to ultimately impact student achievement. Key takeaways include deeper learning, stronger teaching and better long-term outcomes.
