(56) From Insight to Impact: What Student Advocates Want Educators and Policymakers to Know

11am – 12pm MST, 26 February 2026 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Aspen Amphitheater

Advocacy & Policy

Students experience the outcomes of education decisions every day, yet their perspectives are often underutilized in shaping those decisions. This panel features high school student advocates who are engaged in conversations about improving schools and education systems. Through reflection on their experiences, panelists will share insights into how policies, practices, and school culture are felt at the student level and how progress is strengthened when students and adults work in partnership.

The discussion will explore themes such as meaningful student engagement, belonging, academic expectations, mental health, and readiness for life after graduation.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how to better align intentions with impact, and how student perspectives can inform sustainable school improvement. This session invites participants to reflect on how collaboration, trust, and mutual learning can help schools continue moving in the right direction, together.
