11am – 12pm MST, 26 February 2026 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Humboldt Peak

Human Resources & Staff

Hiring and supporting senior leaders is one of the most critical decisions a school or network can make. This interactive workshop introduces the “Golden Thread” framework, a strategic approach to aligning leadership competencies across recruitment, selection, evaluation, and professional growth.

By ensuring consistency between the qualities sought, the support provided, and the evaluation criteria, organizations can build stronger pipelines of principals, senior leaders, and executive directors, while ensuring equity, clarity, and sustainability in their systems. During this session, participants will:

- Identify common misalignments in leadership hiring and evaluation
- Explore competency-based administration for leadership roles
- Practice designing executive-level hiring practices
- Discover how to embed competencies in executive evaluation and coaching

This workshop balances conceptual framing with hands-on design, including Leadership Competency Mapping, a Hiring Alignment Exercise, Evaluation Reflection, Case Study Discussion and Action Planning. Attendees will leave with a draft leadership competency framework, practical tools for competency-based hiring, and a roadmap for embedding the Golden Thread into their leadership pipelines.
