Dr Janet Thirlby
President, Janet Thirlby Consulting
Janet’s passion is working with leaders who are becoming their very best selves, especially as they deal with the consequences of the pandemic, political polarization, scary news, and uncertainty everywhere. Great leaders have a profound impact on their teams, as well as in their communities, and on society. They are destined to create deep, meaningful, sustainable, organizational change. Janet’s life purpose is understanding and embracing her role in facilitating their development.
As a coach, mentor, advisor, and teacher, Janet noticed that leaders respond and grow very differently from each other, even when in the exact same circumstances as their peers. These observations inspired Janet to study what facilitates and accelerates the growth of leaders. What she found was surprising, causing her to develop a leadership program from her unique perspective.
Her approach to innovation and problem-solving is anchored in her values and guided by a blend of principles from the world’s most significant business leaders, not-for-profit thought leaders, and her own research-based proprietary content. Janet’s recommended reading list includes anything from Jim Collins or John Kotter; Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Flow: The Psychology of Happiness; Shirzad Chamine, Positive Psychology; Joiner and Josephs, Leadership Agility; Clifton and Harter, Wellbeing at Work; Crutchfield and Grant, Forces for Good; and Kouzes and Posner, The Truth About Leadership.
Janet is certified and experienced in the administration of many individual and organizational assessments or tools such as 360-degree feedback inventories, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Essential Motivators, Positive Intelligence, GALLUP Clifton Strengths, Workplace Big Five, Strong Interest Inventory, DiSC, and Herman Brain Dominance Instrument.
