This session will provide charter school leaders and
developers with an introductory understanding of the types of expenses eligible for funding through the Great Schools Colorado-Charter Schools Program (CSP) grant. Attendees will gain clarity on which costs are considered allowable, and which are not eligible under CSP rules.

In addition, the session will offer practical tips for budget planning, helping schools maximize their use of CSP funds while ensuring compliance with program requirements. Participants will learn how to strategically allocate resources across different grant categories to support growth and sustainability, as well as avoid common pitfalls that could lead to ineligible expenses. Whether you're new to CSP grants or looking to refine
your budgeting approach, this session will equip you with the knowledge to make the most of your federal funding.

Tanesha Bell

Grant Director, Colorado League of Charter Schools

Tanesha Bell is the Project Director for Great Schools Colorado, overseeing all activities related to the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP) grant. She ensures alignment with project goals, compliance with federal regulations, and serves as the primary liaison with the US Department of Education. With extensive experience in federal grant management, Tanesha previously worked with the Colorado Department of Education, providing training and support to grant recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also administered grants from the Corporation for National and Community Service and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Tanesha holds a BA from Drury University located in Springfield, MO and is a graduate of Manual High School (Go Thunderbolts!!!).
