(64) The Devil is in the Change Management

8.30am – 9.30am MST, 27 February 2026 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Humboldt Peak

Human Resources & Staff

Improving school operations is never just about designing a better system;  it’s about ensuring that staff, principals, teachers, and administration work together to adopt that system and make the change lasting. Many well-intentioned operational shifts fail because leaders underestimate the importance of change management and implementation planning.

This session will use the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX) and a practical case study that examines how University Prep implemented changes to their procurement operations. It offers a practical roadmap for leading change in school operations across any functional domain, including a new enrollment platform, financial workflow, or communication system. Participants will engage in exercises to:

- Define their own “wildly important” goal/s
- Practice creating lead measures that drive daily behavior
- Design a sample scoreboard for stakeholder engagement
- Evaluate accountability models that foster ownership without burnout or confusion
