Harnessing Data to Develop Comprehensive Assessment Protocols

From academic and social-emotional testing to student performance, attendance and grades, districts and schools are collecting massive amounts of data every day. While information is readily available, how and when to use data is rarely clearly defined, leaving educators scrambling and internal processes misaligned. Join us for an overview of the data commonly utilized to evaluate universal practice and identify student needs. We’ll explore the benefits of a Comprehensive Assessment Protocol and walk through both elementary and secondary case studies in the development of a data flow that can be generalized school and district-wide. These data flows will serve as templates for educators to take back and begin the development of their own Comprehensive Assessment Protocol.

Meagan Gillcrist

Meagan is a K-12 Educational Consultant based in Denver, CO. Having graduated with her B.A. (Old Dominion University) and M.A.Ed. (The College of William and Mary) degrees in the area of special education, Meagan has been a devoted advocate and secondary public school educator for 12+ years. Her work as an instructional coach and special education program director have allotted her the opportunity to understand the holistic needs of both students and teachers at a deeper systematic level. This knowledge has given Meagan extensive experience in seeking a more collaborative, equitable, and inclusive process at the school and district level. Her passion for this work is rooted in keeping great educators in education to support student growth and achievement far beyond the classroom walls.
