What does your school's math culture communicate about who can succeed in mathematics? From classroom norms to teacher and student interactions, both explicit and implicit messages shape students' beliefs, confidence, and engagement.Maggie Waldner is an education leader dedicated to ensuring all students see themselves as mathematicians and have access to rigorous, student-centered math instruction and assessment. Through her work with Math Culture Lab, she supports schools in transforming math culture and instructional practices. Previously, she led math instructional change at Downtown Denver Expeditionary School and served as an instructional coach and classroom and intervention teacher in Brooklyn and Denver. Maggie holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was a Zaentz Early Education Fellow. She has also collaborated with organizations including EL Education, Beyond100K, Relay GSE, and the Zaentz Early Education Initiative on STEM-focused initiatives supporting young learners and educators.
