Erin Kane

For the first 10 years of her adult life, Erin worked in the software industry within development and management. When her children were very young, she left her full-time job to stay home. Driven by a passion for STEM (which wasn’t even an acronym yet) in the early grades, helped start a Douglas County public charter school, American Academy. That choice changed the course of her career while igniting a passion for education. She served as the Executive Director of American Academy for many years, growing it to serve nearly 3,000 students across three campuses PK-8. She also served as Interim Superintendent for the Douglas County School District from 2016-2018. It is these experiences that have made her a fierce advocate for our kids, our school district, and all our public schools.

Kendra Hossfeld

Kendra has dedicated the past 25 years to education, serving in roles including Science Teacher, Curriculum Director, Dean, Assistant Principal, and Principal. A lifelong learner, she possesses a strong background in curriculum and design, differentiated instruction, school management, and education leadership. Kendra earned her master's degree from the University of Colorado and holds a K-12 principal license. She is passionate about the potential of every child and believes that challenging and engaging students is key to unlocking their highest potential. Kendra co-founded North Star Academy, a John Irwin School of Excellence and National School of Character. Additionally, she is a partner and founder of Colocorp Builders, Rozebuild, and HS Development, where she contributes to the provision of quality construction, services, and development along the Front Range.

Dr Amy Stuart

Dr. Stuart serves as the ED and Head of School at Renaissance Secondary in Castle Rock. Collaborating with a team of innovative educators, she guides the development of rigorous, authentic, and engaging learning experiences that empower students to reach their full potential. A passionate advocate for education, Dr. Stuart co-founded Renaissance Secondary and brings a diverse background to her leadership role, having served as a teacher, school leader, and in the private sector. She has also actively contributed to local government and education-related boards, playing a crucial role in shaping policies that foster student success and community engagement. Dr. Stuart holds a Doctorate in leadership and learning in organizations from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Arts in teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, biology, and neuroscience from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Diana Simpson

Diana began her educational career teaching 5th and 6th grades before transitioning to middle school social studies. After thirteen years in the classroom, she transitioned to an Academic Director and then an Assistant Principal. She currently serves as the Principal at Ben Franklin Academy, a DCSD charter school where she is in her eighth year. Diana has been partnering with the school district for over 28 years, and served on the opening teams for three public charter schools in Douglas County.
