Sustainable Systems of Operation: Founding Priorities for New Schools

1.30pm – 2.30pm MST, 27 February 2024 ‐ 1 hour

Workshop/Breakout Sessions

Getting the charter is the first battle, but creating a high-quality, sustainable program that can outlive the founding team is the greatest challenge. The primary reason that charters close is ineffective financial and operational management, but adapting the right blueprint can be a gamechanger. Using first-hand experience as a single-site founder in a challenging environment with limited resources, this session will share the strategic planning and thinking necessary for founding teams to be successful. Attendees will receive guidance on specific funding decisions such as hiring, facilities and staff management as well as time to think through their own challenges with the opportunity for group problem-solving.
