This month there are a number of essential supports available to support schools and families hit hardest by CoVid19 impacts.

State grant opportunity

The state’s Colorado COVID-19 Relief Fund is currently accepting applications for their impact priority area through Friday, August 20th. “The Impact priority area is prioritizing community-centered efforts that focus on mitigating impact of the pandemic in addition to efforts that promote resiliency, innovation, and relevance to the needs of people disproportionately affected by COVID-19.” According to the state this includes “food access or services” among other initiatives. You can apply here.

Note: While charters are not indicated in the eligibility criteria, charters are eligible applicants. Please contact Rainey Wikstrom if you plan to submit an application: or 303-989-5356.

Colorado COVID-19 Emergency Hunger Relief Fund announces next round of funding

The Blueprint’s Colorado COVID-19 Emergency Hunger Relief Fund will be releasing its next grant opportunity on August 27. The application will remain open through close of business September 8. We received feedback from our previous rounds that providing more time to apply would help many partners. As with previous rounds of funding, we will provide the link to apply here and will remind you in our weekly newsletter when the funding round is open.

Help promote Colorado P-EBT. Applications are live

We’re excited to share that Colorado families can now apply for Pandemic EBT, or P-EBT! This new food benefit is available to Colorado families with school-aged children. Pandemic EBT provides eligible families with funds to help buy food since schools were closed this spring due to the pandemic. Pandemic EBT is a program that Congress authorized this spring and is administered in Colorado through a partnership between the Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Department of Education. You can use the outreach toolkit to learn about and promote P-EBT in Colorado. Materials are available in English and Spanish, and fact sheets and flyers are available in additional languages. If you have questions about the outreach toolkit or have additional promotional needs, please contact Hunger Free Colorado at
