We wanted to reach out to our school partners to ensure you have seen recent school reopening guidance. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) have release Reopening Schools Guidance. This guidance is laid out based on the phase your county is currently in (Stay at Home, Safer at Home and Protect Our Neighbor). At this time Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas county are all in Safer at Home.
The Metro Denver Partnership for Health (MDPH), a groupled by the six local public health agencies serving the seven-county Denver metro area has developed guidance. CDE in partnership with CDPHE have released a draft toolkitwith sections of required, guidance and considerations covering a wide area of topics specific to reopening schools safely.
CDE and CDPHE recently released guidance for cases and outbreaks in schools. I have not had a chance to connect with our communicable disease team on this, but it will be supplemented with TCHD specific information for reporting and communicating about cases.
If you have any questions or concerns as you read through this information, please do not hesitate to reach out. And please keep in touch as TCHD specific guidance is developed and state a federal guidance evolves.
