School Overview:

RiseUp Community School strives to provide the most challenging, the richest, the most supportive, and the most engaging high school experience for all students that show up at our doors. Position Description:

Qualifications- 

  • Certified in English, Math, Social Studies, or Science

  • Holds a 2 year ELD certification

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience

  • Ability to design project-based courses that align to standards and RiseUp competencies

  • Proven ability to work with students in an alternative setting

  • Pass the Colorado background check


Based on the qualifications of the applicant, the position is between 0.5FTE to 1.0FTE, and will be decided on by the Principal.


Duties-

Teaching- 

  • Teach at least 2 courses in certified subject area

  • Take part in all staff PD


ELA administration-

  • Monitor and ensure RiseUp Community School’s compliance with Chapter 8 of the Consent Decree

  • Act as the SAL for WIDA and ACCESS

  • Lead the CH-ISA team’s work of monitoring the lifecycle of EL’s at RiseUp

  • Support teachers who are in the process of receiving the two year ELA-E certification course 

  • Partner with teachers or lead professional development to ensure that teachers are using current best practices for EL instruction
