Creating a discourse-rich culture in your classroom will lead to increased engagement of ALL learners. In this session, participants will engage in and apply multiple discourse strategies including sentence frames, Socratic Seminar, quastioning techniques, and Visible Thinking routines.

Description: Creating a discourse-rich culture in your classroom will lead to increased engagement of ALL learners. In this session, participants will engage in and apply multiple discourse strategies including sentence frames, Socratic Seminars, questioning techniques, and Visible Thinking routines. Attendees will build an understanding of the impact of academic discourse on student learning. The session will conclude with time to incorporate an academic discourse strategy into an upcoming lesson plan, revise the lesson plan for maximum impact, and receive peer feedback.

Registration Deadline: Friday, January 10. Event is contingent on a minimum of 4 registrants.
