Implementing Effective Data Teams

Location: Colorado League of Charter Schools Training Center, 4201 E. Yale Avenue., Denver

Cost: League Members: $350 per person for all three sessions. | Non-Members: $450 per person for all three sessions | $200 for each additional attendee.

Target Audience: Teachers, Administrators, Instructional Coaches, Support Staff, Interventionists 


Description: In this series of professional development sessions, participants will create a Professional Development product called the “Data Team Action Research Plan”. Participants will be asked to gather formative and summative assessment data to bring to each PD session, set goals that drive the data team, analyze student work samples, engage in learning intervention based instructional strategies, and participate in a lesson vs. assessment study. 


Implementing Effective Data Teams 101 (Thursday, November 3)
In this kick-off session, participants will build background knowledge about data teams, the process and creation of a data team action plan, participate in data driven goal setting, and experience a variety of intervention-based instructional strategies. Lunch will be provided.


Implementing Effective Data Teams 102 (Friday, January 13)
In this full day session, participants will bring the next wave of assessment data, student work samples, lesson plans, samples of formative assessments and engage in a variety of intervention based instructional strategies. There will be time to focus on the action plan, make adjustments, receive collaborative feedback, and create a new set of next steps to drive the plan. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 


Implementing Effective Data Teams 103 (Tuesday, March 14)
Participants will analyze data for the final time to assess the status of goals, the strength of the action plan, action planning revisions and next steps for the following school year, report out specific student outcomes from the data team action plan, analyze the effectiveness of the instructional strategies used, and offer collaborative feedback to one another. Lunch will be provided.
