Description: Most “college planning” presentations speak to the immense cost of attending college and how important it is to save up as much money as possible to avoid taking on exorbitant loans. Quite often, part of these presentations involves strategies to reduce lifestyle expenditures in order to free up money to save.  Our workshop assumes that people already know how important it is to save for college.  The focal point is neither about saving for college nor the various financial vehicles that assist parents in doing so.  Instead, our focus is to educate families on EFC (Expected Family Contribution), how schools use the EFC to determine financial aid packages and how strategies can be implemented to maximize those aid offers.  Long story short, rather than teaching people how to save more money, we seek to teach people how to reduce the total out-of-pocket cost.

Registration: None required.
