What I Do For Charter Schools
(How Charter Schools Will Know Me)
I provide support to the League’s Academic Services team, Business Services team and New School Development team in order to create and strengthen their offerings to our member schools. I will be expanding the League’s services to include employee relations, talent acquisition and development for member schools. I will be supporting member schools with Human Resource and Business Operation needs. I’ll oversee schools that want to strengthen their governing boards by providing customized trainings on all topics relating to governance. I will manage the League’s internal talent and assist with execution of the League’s strategic plan.
On Charter Public Schools

I became immersed in the charter world when searching for schools when my children went off to kindergarten.  I wanted to find a school for my children that reflected my family’s values and needs. It was reassuring to learn about the numerous options available, including charter public schools. It was reassuring to know that parents have the option to research what school environment is the best for their child. I was excited to learn about the Colorado League of Charter Schools and appreciate their vision about all students having access to high-quality public school options, not just charters. This organization’s goal is to improve all public school education and amplify the message that school choice in education is vital. I am excited to be part of a team that is making a difference when it comes to educational opportunity for students and families in Colorado.

Background
My degree is in community and regional planning. I worked previously with the planning department of city government as well as at a printing and marketing company. I entered the education world when I had my children. I applied for a job at a charter public school to help increase my chances for my children to attend. I worked in Human Resources for seven years – hiring and staffing a school from the ground up. I was COO for three years overseeing up to eight departments. When not at the League, I enjoy time with my husband and three children. We spend a lot of time at their sporting events and performances. I enjoy crafting; creating small projects in my down time.
